Located in the heart of Central Europe with easy access from all over the world, Berlin, Germany is an ideal location for the Global Home Education Conference 2012.
Berlin is symbolic of the freedom for which the modern home education yearns. Once isolated and divided, Berlin survived and grew in spite of oppressive circumstances. Inevitably Berlin was freed, the walls taken down, and democracy established — the same freedom that home education has enjoyed in many parts of the world for some decades now.
There are many benefits to holding a global conference in Berlin. With its history, and as the capital of Europe’s largest and perhaps most influential democracy in Continental Europe, Berlin is the natural site for a conference with democratic aspirations. The conference will be accessible to participants all over the world and will also deliver the necessary and practical benefits of an advanced democratic society: ready access, advanced technology, and global and local transportation — a city that can attract delegates from all over the world.
The venue at the Seminaris Hotel, situated in the calm southern part of Berlin’s free university district, offers access to central Berlin through local train. Participants can take advantage of the hotel’s reasonably priced and comfortable accommodations to make networking and society that much easier.
We welcome all who have an interest in home education to the GHEC 2012 in Berlin. Your participation will support home education regardless of method or motivation — please join us November 1-4, 2012 in Berlin.
